About Treboey

From the planned conception, to his delivery, nine months of gestation seemed much too slow before the arrival of this desperately desired baby boy. While the wait was long anticipated, the unborn was named, assigned god-parents as family and church members committed themselves to nurture, guide and love the gift we call "Trey".

Born to Reverend Tommy R. Smith, II and Clara Smith, Friday, October 22, 1976, 8:43 pm at Texas Women’s Hospital, Houston, Texas, born into the family as the third child and the third generation namesake as Tommy R. Smith, III, the influence of music was an embedded trait as his mother a church musician, and father an avid theologian, played music by gospel and classic pioneer artists like James Cleveland, Edwin and Walter Hawkins, Aretha Franklin, Johnny Mathis, Denise Williams, the Staple Singers along with many others every day.

Evenings when Trey’s mother rehearsed on her piano or organ at their home songs she’d teach to the choir, Trey then a toddler in diapers (no pull-ups back then ya’ll) begged her to play "I Don’t Feel Know Ways Tired" by Rev. James Cleveland so that he could sing and preach to it. Despite his severe stuttering speech and tippy toe balancing from club feet, you witnessed his fervor through his expression of first-rate music from his little soul.

Almost 30 years later, Trey’s prolific talent and passion for gospel, R & B, and hip-hop music drives him to originate and co-write some of the most irresistible high-spirited and smooth-groove sounds for this era of Christian and secular inspirational sounds. His uniquely styled threaded tunes resonate in your spirit long after the songs are over.

Launching his first single cd - "Situations Complications", a bass driven tune accentuated with chop sounds, horns and electrifying vocals that moves the listener to a place of inspiration and encouragement despite present circumstances. The single features contemporary jazz vocals of JerMichael Gilbert and Twaneisha Cortez, and hip-hop remix by "Heaven Sent Husband" author/writer, Devion Carlos Huey.

Making his way into the industry, this talented producer, is striving the pavement with a new sound for a new era in contemporary sounds for music lovers all across the nation. Look out for…… TREBOEY Productions!
